My Funko Favorites

Reis over at Lair of the Dork Horde recently made an exciting announcement that got me thinking about my Funko stuff.  I started collecting about 10 years ago when I stumbled upon my first Wacky Wobbler at Sparky's near Universal Studios, California.

Sparky's was awesome, lots of fun nostalgia.  At the time they had a big Pez window display, and at the back of the store, a wall of Funko.  It was like nostalgia nirvana.  There were sooo many I wanted, I could have blown the whole vacation budget in that store.

Funko has released a lot of fun product lines, Spatik Plastiks, Wisecracks, POP!, Handy Dandy's, and more, but Wacky Wobblers will always be my favorites.

So, here, in no particular order, are a few favorite Wacky Wobblers from my collection.

Space Ace, my first Wacky Wobbler

Smokey the Bear, I am a sucker for all things Smokey,
any PSA character for that matter.
(Woodsy, I’m looking in your dierection)

Freddy Funko, obligatory company mascot, just an amazing vintage looking design.

Mister Softee, the mascot from an ice cream truck company,
"ice cream man! ice cream man!"

Spanky, a Japanese advertising icon, for what? I have no idea but he looks great.

Mr. Potato Head, I prefer this original potato-y look over the newer cartoony head.
I also enjoy his pals Pete and Oscar

A nice iconic Tiki, just beautiful.

Rock'em Sock'em Robots,
not to be confused with the robots from Real Steel ::cough::

Smurf, pure 80's childhood goodness

Why not Zoidberg?

This list could go on forever.  Funko has produced so many great Wobblers, hell I could do a list of cereal mascots alone. Perhaps I will someday, but in the meantime, you can check out my entire Funko collection here.

Star Wars Celebration Goodies

I haven't been a super avid Star Wars collector lately.  There has been sooo much new product since the prequels, I got burned out. I even stopped buying new figures from Hasbro. I may pick up the odd vintage item here or there and that's about it.  I'm fairly resigned to not buy any new Star Wars stuff.

Then along comes Star Wars Celebration in Orlando.  I'm not in any position to attend, but will follow along online, watching for some kind of announcement about a new Star Wars project. Maybe some news on that live action TV show we were promised about a decade ago

Anyways, the Star Wars Celebration website has a sneak preview of some of the merchandise to be had, and some of it is pretty nifty.  So despite having resigned myself to no new Star Wars stuff, here are a few items I may watch for online.

These salt and pepper shakers are sharp looking and well done, I would only put them out for special occasions and holidays.

On one of my first trips to Walt Disney World I scored a bunch of postcards, recreating the destination posters found in the queue.  These magnets remind me of those, I'd love to use them to affix the aforementioned postcards to my fridge.

I'm also a sucker for Tiki stuff, so I may watch for something featuring one or two of these illustrations.  I really dig Vaders helmet as an Easter Island style tiki.

These magnets of the classic action figure case lids are killing me with their awesomeness.

Finally, not featured at the Star Wars website preview, but equally cool is this gem from Disney Parks. A set of die cast Starspeeders from Star Tours (both original and recently re-imagined) commemorating its 25th anniversary .  I am a sucker for any Disney Park ride merchandise.

I'm sure we'll see more before the event officially kicks off.  Anybody out there heading to Orlando in a couple weeks?

S.L.U.G. Zombies Series Two

Found S.L.U.G. Zombies Series Two at my local Target the other day.  These look so awesome. I approve of  the window in the series two coffin pack, showing off one of the figures, but I'd like to see the assortment mixed up a bit.  What's in the box is printed on the back. It would be a lot more fun to not know what's inside, maybe mix it up with some rares or variants.

I am really digging the addition of humans to the line and look forward to additional creatures and colors down the road.
